“Better Norms” for your Company Post-Pandemic

As we are adjusting to this WFH life and shift in culture, we have been encouraging students in our classes to take a few moments to come up with a list of “better norms” coming out of this pandemic. What positive changes do you want to see for yourself, your team, and your company? Most of the time, the overwhelming response is “continue virtual work options!” It appears that the majority of people have embraced WFH life and the flexibility it brings.

Other responses have been:

More gratitude on a daily basis—being mindful of quality time spent with family and friends, being appreciative of going out to eat, being thankful for home gardens providing fresh food.

Continuing to informally check in with team members—how are they feeling both professionally and personally.

Less travel—realizing that I am happiest at home with my family.

Continuing video calls to keep in touch with family and friends in different parts of the country.

Making more time for myself.

Continue to encourage teams to inspect and adapt.

This is a great retrospective project for the end of the workweek and end of the month. What “better norms” do you want to see? We’d love to hear from you on LinkedIn or Facebook.
