Join the Braintrust Team for the first Virtual Agile Open event. We are taking our popular Agile Open events online!

Do you want to create your very own conference filled with fascinating sessions focused on the topics that most interest you? Do you want to find a safe place to engage in a deep discussion with experts on a topic that you are just starting to learn? Welcome to Braintrust’s Virtual Agile Open!

This isn’t a traditional conference! There are no keynote speakers or PowerPoints! Using the Open Space Technology (OST) approach, this event encourages Agile practitioners to self-organize around topics that are most important to them. Attendees with common issues and interests share their experiences and learn from others. There is no preset agenda for the event; rather, sessions are created “live” by the participants at the start of the day. Click here for a short video on Open Space Technology.

We will use Zoom Breakout Rooms and MURAL to create an intimate and fun Virtual Agile Open Space environment. There will be “office hours” before the event for you to test the tools and meet your Facilitators.

Plan to spend a full day connecting with others who share your passion and are willing to take responsibility for what they believe in and care about around following a path to Agility.

See you in November!

Instructor

Kate Megaw, CST, PMP

Kate is an IT professional with over 12 years of industry experience. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management from The Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) from the Scrum Alliance and a Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI).

Kate is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with The Braintrust Consulting Group, a worldwide leader in Agile transformations. Kate has spent much of her career managing and leading teams for global companies like XcitekSolutionsPlus (XSP) and H&R Block. She has founded and grown several community organizations such as Birmingham International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners (IAMCP), Agile Birmingham and TechBirmingham’s suite of TechMixer Events. In addition Kate has served as Vice President for Professional Development for PMI Birmingham.

"The last two days I attended the Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) Credential 1 course taught by Anu Smalley, CST from The Braintrust Consulting Group. It was a great training with several other seasoned Agile Leaders who are creating change in their teams and organizations. I was reminded that real change takes executive sponsorship, careful consideration, and willing team members. Companies who are committed to putting in the time and allowing the right people to get in the right seats can transform the way an organization delivers. I'm looking forward to using these Agile principles as I build a team who will thrive on a culture of process and system improvement."

Chris H., Global IT Solutions

"This class does a great job of explaining and showcasing the strengths of agile development without making the rules rigid and inflexible. I feel that I have a solid groundwork for trying agile and seeing what works best for my team."

Derek, Onramp Access

"By tying together Agile principles and engineering best practices, this course provides a springboard from which to improve one's technical output and team dynamic."

Ted, Red Hat Inc.

I arrived with a good understanding of Scrum and still found the course tremendously valuable. They did a great job of providing a great value for all skill levels.

Karl, Guthy-Renker

"An invaluable resource for learning, improving or cementing an understanding of Scrum."

Matt, Naxos of America

Benefits

This is your chance to build a conference around topics that matter to you!

Throughout the day, you and other practicing Agile professionals will self-organize around topics that are most important to you. You will have the ability to move from virtual room to virtual room so that you can connect with others who have common issues and interests. All with expert coaches facilitating and adding knowledge along the way.

Plus, this event is an excellent opportunity to network and meet other Agile and Scrum professionals- something that is harder to do under Covid conditions.

  • Share ideas and bring problems to the table in an open format
  • Learn from your peers and Agile experts
  • Opportunity to bring a topic or problem you’re interested in and learn from others
  • Create your own event with your own topics—no set agenda!

Who Should Attend?

  • Everyone. This is an Open event that is exactly that- open to everyone. Whether you are brand new to Agile or a 20 year veteran product owner, you will find topics and content that will help you on your journey.

Take Aways

  • You’ll earn 6 SEU/PDUs just for attending. Its the cheapest and most fun way that we can think of to maintain your Scrum credentials.
  • Digital copies of all Mural boards and shared idea spaces from the whole day.
