Day 1: As a SE class participant I want to…

  1. Identify the limitations of traditional project management, so that I understand what problems Scrum solves.
  2. Explain the theories Scrum is based on, so that I know why Scrum works.
  3. Understand Agile, so that I can distinguish it from Scrum.
  4. Describe the overall Scrum Framework, so that I know how the parts of Scrum integrate.
  5. List the roles in Scrum, so that I know how the members of a Scrum Team work together.
  6. Use supporting Scrum Artifacts, so that the team can better radiate valuable information.
  7. List and explain the key meetings in Scrum, so that I know what is happening before, during and after each Sprint.


Day 2: As a SE class participant I want to…

  1. Review the overall Scrum Framework, so that I know how to identify Scrum roles, meetings and Artifacts.
  2. Demonstrate developing a Vision Statement, so that I can provide a guiding light for the product.
  3. Explain the purpose of a Backlog and User Stories, so that I can focus the team on the highest customer value.
  4. Coach team members how to relatively size Backlog items so that the team can feel confident in how much to take into the next sprint.
  5. Experience a refinement workshop, so that I can learn by doing.
  6. Use the right metrics, so that the team has data for continuous improvement.
  7. Avoid technical debt, so that we can deliver faster with quality.
  8. Detect when Scrum may be not implemented correctly, so that we can avoid potential mistakes.
  9. Experience a Scrum Sprint, so that I can learn by doing.
  10. Describe potential challenges in adopting Scrum, so that we can quickly add value.
