In life and in the classroom, it’s common for your tried and true techniques get routine, stale, boring. As we work with our Team, Stakeholders, and Customers to build value-centric products, we need to keep it fresh! That’s why it’s so important to keep growing as a Product Owner. ACSPO dives into true Stakeholder engagement, real-life Product Backlog refinement, and the timeline of Product Strategy, Product Discovery, and Product Assumptions.
Because a prerequisite of becoming an ACSPO is having a year of Product Owner experience, all students come with real-life questions and issues. In class, you learn valuable techniques by trying them out with the opportunity to get coaching and feedback. You will practice techniques to effectively facilitate conversations with Stakeholders and Teams with different points of view to get the best result. In addition, you will create hypothesis to test your product assumptions and techniques for effective product discovery.
We’ll walk through techniques from initial visioning, determining MVP (minimum viable product), creating outcome-based roadmaps, journey maps, understanding methods for creating product backlogs, and refining the product backlog to ensure value creation. We’ll examine methods for managing obstacles and organizational change, and we’ll end up with a discussion of scaling both techniques and frameworks.
