CORE VALUES LEAD TO BETTER DECISION MAKING.

This is a statement we can all get behind, right?

Core values, by definition, are a set of fundamental beliefs which dictate behavior. These beliefs guide an organization’s conduct as well as its relationship with the external world. Used correctly, core values should guide actions, unite employees, and define the organization’s brand.

Intrinsic to the vision of an organization

Core values represent the organizations highest priorities, deeply held beliefs, and fundamental driving forces. They are the heart of what your organization and its employees stand for in the world. Additionally, values play an integral role in the overall motivation and morale of employees. When held front and center by employees, core values should be seen in action by clients, customers, and vendors.

In an ever-changing world, core values remain constant. The values underlie our work, how to interact with each other, and which strategies we employ to fulfill our mission. The core values are the basic elements of how we go about our work.  They are the practices we use (or should be using) every day in everything we do.

CORE VALUES:
  • Govern personal relationships
  • Guide business processes
  • Clarify who we are
  • Articulate what we stand for
  • Help explain why we do business the way we do
  • Guide us on how to teach
  • Inform us on how to reward
  • Guide us in making decisions
  • Underpin the whole organization

Core values are not descriptions of the work we

do or the strategies we employ to accomplish our mission.

CORE VALUES ARE NOT:
  • Operating practices
  • Business strategies
  • Cultural norms
  • Competencies
  • Changed in response to market/ society/ administration changes
  • Used individually

The core values of Braintrust form the foundation on which employees perform work and conduct themselves.
